I’ll Be Smarter This Year

Come closer… take a peek

Right after Easter or closer to Mother’s Day… you know, when the weather finally starts to cooperate {in the Midwest that is} and the greenhouses are open and full of blooms… it’s incredibly tempting to buy something~ anything at all with color!  But, if I put up a hanging basket outside my front door too early, a soon-to-be mama raspberry finch is sure to find it and lay her eggs right in the middle of it.  Oh, it’s sweet but all I really get is a mostly dead plant hanging outside my door for a month… not to mention the hilarity of trying to assuage the fears of a stressed-out mama finch who doesn’t seem to “get it” that we’re not going to harm her babies.

Yep, I’m going to be smarter this year!

How early do you give into temptation… especially if you’re in the Midwest?
